So we finally moved Berkley in with Haven and let’s just say that last night was rough! I hope that it will get better! I hear the first week will be the adjustment period and then they get used to each other’s sleep noises. Please help me with a small decision… when I graduated High School my grandparents bought me the honey wood colored hope chest you see in between their beds. I am thinking of painting it black to blend in with the room. But part of me feels like I can’t touch it because it could be an heirloom one day. Thoughts?

I HATE the stomach flu!!!

Is this not the cutest POODLE? I saw it at the park yesterday and I followed him and his owners around for a little while. I know these people thought I was crazy so I finally approached them and asked it I could hold their cute ball of fur! It was only 2 pounds and fit perfect in my arms. I got the name of the breeder and was told that they have 1 puppy left. Do I dare call?????? Or should I hold out for a bigger house and then get one of these?

I’m just kidding!  I would never get one this big.

So yesterday I got word that Old Navy was having a BIG sale… take an additional 50% off the clearance price! Of course I rushed over (with out my kids) to dig for an hour and a half. I had to come home so Bryan could go surfing. So, I then put the girls in the car and headed to another Old Navy. I am CRAZY right? Between Target last week and Old Navy this week, I need to get a grip. What was my New Year’s resolution about NOT buying things just because they are a good deal? HELP! I try to tell myself daily to just purchase items as I need them. For some reason though, I don’t work that way. I don’t have it in me. I did however buy things for my neighbor and also a friend (Yes, I even love to dig for other people) so the contents of these 5 bags are not entirely mine. OK, here’s the Old Navy situation. The sale is supposedly going on until the 15th. So PLEASE go buy lots of things so everything is gone and I won’t be tempted. Here are some deals you may find:

WHY DO I LOVE THIS STORE SO MUCH? I used to never shop there until I had kids and now it has changed my life forever! Hopefully everyone can go find some good things! If you go and get stuff, let me know what good finds you end up with! Happy Shopping!

Kanye West’s “Flashing Lights”- I love this song right now. I could listen to it all day and not get sick of it. It has also been a great work out song now that I am getting my rear to the gym!

Ceramic space heaters- This year I bought two space heaters at costco. I thought it would be a good way to conserve energy. The problem is that I find myself camped out in front of it every night. About 15 minutes later, I am asleep because the heat feels so wonderful. There is something that regular heaters can’t do and something about warm air blowing directly on you.

Restoration Hardware Blanket- Bryan’s parents bought us a super cozy blanket for Christmas. This combined with the space heater is heaven. Nothing sounds better after a busy day than wrapping myself up in this.

100 calorie microwave kettle korn- I get really hungry a few hours after dinner every night. This is the BEST treat. It comes out all warm and sweet yet salty. Perfect combo and it is not bad for you! I LOVE this stuff.

Tights- My girls and I have been wearing tights with everything this year. They really do keep me much warmer. This also solves many problems. Number one, Haven’s obsession to only wear skirts or dresses. Number two, hating to shave my legs in the winter.

Ugg Boots- I think I love these every winter. Bryan bought me this new pair for Christmas and they are so comfy and overly warm! My feet and calves feel like they are in a marshmellow oven.

Good Doctors- I seriously feel like I have spent most of the winter so far in Dr.’s offices. With my kids being constantly sick, the pediatrician’s office has a good laugh when I show up for my weekly visits. I also have been going to Urologists about my kidney stone and I left yesterday with good news… there aren’t any more in my kidneys like I thought there were! HURRAY for good Dr.’s who care!!!

10 months our junior year in high school and then again after his mission.

He’s almost 30! I can’t believe it. We will both be this year!
Who eats more?
I used to eat more in high school and college. You can refer back to some of my flashback friday pictures for proof. Now, he eats more! Which is how it should be.
Who said I love you first?
Bryan did!

Bryan… who isn’t taller than me though?
Who can sing better?
Bryan thinks I have a good voice (I DON”T) and I think that he has a good voice. The winner is HIM!
Who is smarter?
I can definitely spell better than Bryan but he is SMARTER! He barely graduated High School and told my mom that “College wasn’t for him” when we got engaged. I think my mom was a little nervous. He ended up getting almost straight A’s and graduating college on the Dean’s list!
Who does the laundry?
I do. He is nice about offering to help but I don’t like anyone else to do it. I hang dry 1/2 of our stuff and I am the only who knows what items. I also LOVE to watch TV while folding laundry so he is lucky that I enjoy this chore.
Who pays the bills?
I do. When he was going to school and I was working full time, I got used to paying them and still do. It is also good that I pay them so he has no idea how much I am spending!
Who sleeps in the right side?
He does. I try to work my way over to that side so I can cuddle and stay warm but he gets too hot and doesn’t like it.
Who mows the lawn?
Salud Gonzales…. best gardener in town!
Who cooks dinner?
I cook during the winter but in the summer, he LOVES to BBQ and is really good at it! He makes delicious grilled vegetables!
Who drives?
I mostly do b/c I get nervous and tell him not to follow cars too close. He then gets annoyed and pulls over while telling me to just drive. So I do!
Who is more stubborn?
Me.
Who kissed who first?
It was very mutual. I remember we were on my front porch and I had on overalls with two french braids and clear braces! Are you kidding me?
Who asked who out first?
Even though I had a boyfriend at the time, I gave Bryan my phone number and told him to call me after the first night we met. I then broke up with my boyfriend the next day and Bryan never called. He finally did after a week! Bryan played hard to get. This drove me crazy and made me like him way more!
Who proposed?
He proposed but as most guys are slow with this, I had to give him a little push.
Who has more friends?
Same amount I think!
Who is more sensitive?
Neither of us are the crying type. I probably am just because of hormones!
Who has more siblings?
Bryan. There are 4 kids in his family and 3 kids in mine.
Who wears the pants?
We both wear the pants. We tend to meet in the middle most times…. it works the best!

So friday started with a quick trip to Target for some cold medicine. When I saw that all the Christmas stuff went to 90% (which is practically FREE) I spent some time there and then dragged my kids around in their pajamas to several other Targets! I kind of stuck with my New Year’s Resolution by only buying things that I will really use. Flannel Sheet sets for $1.99… come on! Who does not need that? And Christmas $1 pajamas to put away for Haven until next year! Oh, can’t forget about my new $2.99 wreaths. LOVE IT! Here is all the crap I brought home.

Friday night we met up with some of our dear friends who only live 20 minutes away but we don’t see too often! We always have a wonderful time with them. We ended up going to “The Melting Pot” to eat and was it ever good!!! If you have never been there… I highly suggest it. Even just for the $15 dessert fondue! We left feeling fat but fulfilled!

Saturday morning I was so proud of myself. I woke up and worked out for my first time! I was rather embarrassing. First of all, when I got there… I didn’t know how to work the treadmill so had to seek some help. Then I came home very sweaty and Bryan said to me, “Wow- what did you do?” I told him how I WALKED the treadmill for 35 minutes and then did the elliptical machine for 5 minutes and then got tired! SO pathetic I know! The worst part is that I am so sore today just from that little nothing of a workout that I did. It is a start though right?

Later saturday morning we stuffed our faces again! We met my family in Laguna Beach at Las Brisas for a breakfast brunch as a farewell to my brother. He is only going back up to Provo but it was a good excuse to celebrate and dine. It rained and Haven was obsessed with jumping in puddles with her rainboots and umbrella!

I love how my Dad is tan and wearing shorts and a short sleeve shirt in the rain!

Saturday night we met up with our friends the Deckers and Hemeons for some yummy Mexican food and Ice Cream! Marc Hemeon is so funny with the girls… they swarm him like bees. The picture of him holding the 3 girls had us cracking up when we got home and actually saw Haven! Hemeons live so close and it is so nice. They came over so the adults could play games after and the girls fell asleep with a movie on.

On sunday, Haven got to go to primary for the 1st time! She is officially a sunbeam! With her birthday being in January… she barely missed the cut off last year. She was SO ready for this and had a great time! She was SO mad at me in this picture. She did not want to wear this dress. Every time I have tried to get her to wear it, she refuses and says the fur is too itchy! Today, I forced her to put it on. I refuse to let it go to waste. Sorry Haves, when you are a mommy… you can be the Boss!

Bryan and I will now end our weekend with some delicious Pumpkin Cobbler that just came out of the oven while we watch a new episode of Desperate Housewives! I love weekends!!!

POOR LITTLE GUY! TALK ABOUT BEING IN THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME! LUCKILY WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY MORE MICE ISSUES HERE AT THE THACKER HOME. HOWEVER- OUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR WAS NOT AS LUCKY!
